We have started "Words Their Way" where each student has their own set of words to study. Those words are meat to help them develop more language skills by understanding the patterns in word sounds and endings. Every two weeks they will get a new set of words to practice. They will have a take home copy to practice with at home. The goal is not to memorize how to spell those words, but to listen for and be able to transfer the patterns in those words to their own writing. They can practice 2-3 times weekly at home with a word sort. Our spelling test will be every second Thursday. We will return tests on Friday, as it takes a little longer to mark these ones. They will also get their new words on Monday.
